Darren Clarke, the Open Champion, misses cut at Irish Open08.03.11

The Open Champion namely Darren Clarke missed the cut at the Irish Open. It was with follow major winner Padraig Harrington that making also an early exit in Killarney.

Clarke moved up the leaderboard after birdies at the first and third. It is before his momentum was halted by bogeys on the fourth and fifth. The suite happened after his opening 69. Three straight dropped shots from the 11th left batting to make the cut and a further bogey at the last sealed his fate as he missed out by two shots while the Dungannon man picked up a shot at the sixth.

“All in all, I’s disappointed with my score but there’s always next week,” Clarke said.

Collin Montgomerie Should be out of Irish Open07.25.11

Collin Mongomerie by an Injury or so called as an Achilles Injury has been forced to pull out of Irish Open of this week.

Since the Scottish Open three week ago, the Ryder Cup captain has not played. He has been failed to qualify for the Open Championship also at Sandwitch. Next week’s WGC-Bridgestone International in Ohio or the US PGA Championship a week later is the field that has been not made by Montgomerie. As with note, in 1996, 1997 and 2001 the Scot has won the Irish Open.

Until the Czech Open or the Jonnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles at the end of the next month, his next appearance might not be. So unfortunate it is because of the prestigious chances that have been crossed out.

Other Irish major winners namely Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell and Padraig Harrington will be joined with new Open Champion namely Darren Clarke at their national open in Killarney. It looks certain to draw big crowds, indeed.

In county Kerry, Clarke is hoping to challenge Harrington, the only one of the quarter that has won the Irish Open.
